Essential Communications operates in the fast moving consumer goods and luxury products industries around the world including fashion and accessories, wines and spirits, confectionery and fine food, tobacco goods, jewellery and beauty products, gifts and toys.
Within these sectors, we specialise in providing PR support to both retail companies and those which supply goods and services to the international travel retail and duty free sector.
Some of these clients have public relations departments or contract agencies which handle general PR for the company but which overlook the niche global travel retail area.

Rowena Holland has more than 25 years experience of publishing and public relations. As a journalist she worked on a broad range of publications in the agricultural, catering, food, inflight and travel retail sectors. From 1988 to 1996 she acted as a consultant within UK pr company The PM Partnership, specializing in food and catering accounts. Rowena established Essential Communications in 1996. |  Kate Appleton started out in British Airways PR in 1980, armed with a degree in French & Economics from St Andrews. Roles in media relations, internal communications and publishing followed, including 12 years editing a charity magazine and two years running communications for a management consultancy. Kate assisted the campaign to save intra-EU duty free from 1996-2000 and joined Essential Communications in 2001. | |
